A series of still life images for Viewpoint, highlighting the textural & visceral quality of textiles.
A sensuous exploration of rich textile bears an innate spiritual numinosity. The tactile weightiness of resplendent drapes, the rolling sheen of supple leather, and the dancing liquid shimmer of moiré taffeta reflect an indulgent opulence historically reserved for religion and the aristocracy.
Saturated colour in deep jewel hues of amethyst, sapphire and ruby combine with rich aged metallics, adding exaggerated depth to glorious swathes of pleated, piled and gathered fabric.
